FHMS Band Concert - 12/17/12

Fossil Hill Band Concert is TONIGHT!!!!

Students should arrive at 7pm

 

The concert will take place at Fossil Ridge High School

 

Concert begins at 7:30pm

 

**This is a major test grade for our students.

** Concerts are part of their final grade evaluation. 

Students will wear ALL BLACK concert dress attire.

 NO JEANS- NO TENNIS SHOES

FHMS Band News - 12/13/2012

1.        Friday (tomorrow)– Wind Ensemble students will meet at Chisholm Trail at 8am in their solid black dress clothes for our concert. They will be back at school at FHMS by 10:45/11:00am  (See post below this one for the schedule)

2.       Monday, December 17^th is our band concert at Fossil Ridge for ALL BAND STUDENTS.  All students report at 7:00pm for their 7:30pm concert.  Students wear solid black concert uniforms.  (The concert program is posted below this post)

3.       Tuesday – winter tour day two – Wind Ensemble students report to Heritage at 8am in their solid black concert uniforms.  They need to bring 8.00 for lunch on Tuesday.

4.       PICTURES will be taken of ALL band students on Wednesday – December 19^th.  Students need to wear their Band T-shirt and jeans for the picture.

Wind Ensemble Winter Tour Schedule

Friday schedule:  December 14^th

8:00am arrive at Chisholm Trail

Students please wear all black concert uniform (head to toe)

You can decorate your instrument ……….just make sure the instrument will still play with all of your decorations J

We will perform at 8:30 and at 9:30am (two different concerts)

At 10:30 we will return to FHMS – you can change clothes at that time – you will report back to school at 4^th period .

9:30 pack up and go to Parkview  Concert at Parkview starts at 10:00 – 10:45am

11:00am – go to lunch at Pizza Inn (Alliance) Bring $8.00 for lunch (we will go on a KISD school bus)

12:00 – pack up and head to N. Riverside for a 12:35pm concert

Return back to FHMS at 1:30 – please do not plan on changing clothes on this day – stay in your uniform

·          Honor Band / Percussion Class rehearsal after school today from 3:45 – 5pm  TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

·         Symphonic Band / Percussion Class rehearsal after school on Tuesday from 3:45-5pm

·         Honor Band / Percussion Class rehearsal after school on Wednesday from 3:45 – 5pm

·         PIZZA PARTY after school on Tuesday for Honor Band Flutes / Oboes 3:45 – 4:15pm

·         Wind Ensemble has regular sectionals this week

I only have one parent signed up to go on the WIND ENSEMBLE winter tour .  I need 3 for each day.  Please email me if you are available.  We will be unable to go, if we don’t have the correct number of chaperones that the school requires.

·         Jazz Band rehearses – this Thursday, December 13^th from 3:45pm – 5:00pm

Ø Students will be pulled out of class for tutoring by Mrs. Janeski and Mr. Mullins.

 

·         Congratulations to all of our students that made ALL REGION BAND this weekend.  We came out 2^nd place in the entire region with almost 30 schools auditioning.  SUPER PROUD OF THE FHMS BAND!!!!!!!!!!  28 students from FHMS made the REGION BAND!!!!!!!! 

·         Practice Charts are due each week.

·         Don’t forget to send in your donations for the “GOODIE BAGS”

·         THANKS to all of you that have purchased items for our goodie bags!!!!!!!!!!  The kids LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

·         SPECIAL THANKS to all of the volunteers that have helped this past week with office work and with the region band!  We appreciate YOU!!!!!!!!!!
