Summer Band Camp

Band Camp is a fun and exciting way to get better at your instrument while having a blast during the summer! During the day, you get to rehearse fun, new music with new people and in the evening you get to participate in fun activities at a university such as swimming, watching movies, making new friends and a camp dance. Band News - 3/27/2013

·         NO SCHOOL on FRIDAY

·         Jazz band will NOT rehearse on Thursday

·         PERCUSSION CONCERT on April 12^th at 6pm at Fossil Ridge High School

                                          STAAR TESTING DATES LISTED BELOW

·           April 2  --  Writing 7 day 1 and Math 8

·           April 3  --  Writing 7 day 2 and Reading 8

·           April 23  --  Math 7

·           April 24  --  Reading 7 and Science 8

·         April 25  --  Social Studies 8

 

·         Solo and Ensemble contest is April 13^th(Saturday)

times were given to the students this week

 

·         Jazz Band Contest at Sandy Lake is April 20^th (Saturday)

We will meet at 9:15am at FHMS

·         May 7^th – Wind Ensemble to Murchison (we perform around 11am)

·         May 8^th – Symphonic and Honor Band to NRH20

·         May 11^th – Wind Ensemble to Six Flags (we will leave around 9:30am)

·         May 16^th -Spring Concert for all students at Fossil Ridge 7pm

·         May 23^rd- Recording session for Wind Ensemble at Fossil Ridge 5pm

April 13 - help needed

TWO WAYS TO HELP……………MONITORS NEEDED and FOOD ITEMS NEEDED

April 13^th is our solo / ensemble contest here at FHMS. 

If you are available to help monitor a room for this event, please let me know as soon as possible.

 

We need help at the following times:

 

7 monitors from

8am – noon

 

7 monitors from

Noon – 3pm

 

If you are able to bring a lunch item for our room monitors

and for our judges on Saturday, April 13^th, we would truly appreciate it.

Items needed:

 

1.       Sandwiches

2.       Dips

3.       Chips

4.       Fruit

5.       Desserts

6.       Veggie Tray

7.       Cheese / Crackers

8.       12 pack of soft drink

9.       Case of water
