Our SPIRIT WEAR FUNDRAISER WILL END TOMORROW………..

Please submit all forms by 4pm on Friday.

Money for WIND ENSEMBLE STUDENTS

Is DUE  $12.00

Make checks payable to FHMS-Band

There are only 4 students who still need to play, please submit a check as soon as possible.

 

SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENT FEE IS DUE by

October 1^st (Monday)  Please submit your $100.00 usage fee by that date.

Oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, French horn, tuba, euphonium

 

PERCUSSION USAGE FEE is DUE by

October 1^st (Monday)  Please submit you $25.00 usage fee by that date.

(if you child plays percussion)

 

Fossil Ridge High School

Football Game for EVERYONE!!!!!

 

On Thursday October 4th, you are invited to watch the Fossil Ridge High School marching band as they perform at a home football game.

SCHEDULE

☺ Wear jeans and our Fossil Hill band shirt.  They will be in next week and will passed out to all students that have paid for them.  If you haven’t paid yet, shirts are $15.00.

☺ Make sure you bring your instrument and your pep band music..

*All times are approximate other than arrival time.

 6:00 p.m. - Meet at the main entrance to Keller High School Stadium.

 6:10 p.m. – All students in line on the north side of the stadium (against the fence) Everyone walks together to the stadium. Sit by section. Ex. Flutes with flutes, etc.

6:30 p.m. - Star Spangled Banner, fight song, and school song are played by Fossil Ridge HS.

7:00p.m. – Kick off of game.  FHMS band students will play together with the high school band during the 1^st and 2^nd quarter.

AFTER HALF-TIME. After halftime, we will dismiss the students to the WEST side of the stadium entrance to meet with their parents.  Please be ready to pick up your child from the front of the stadium at a timely manner. 

 

TUBAS WILL BRING THEIR INSTRUMENTS FROM HOME

PERCUSSIONISTS WILL NEED TO TAKE HOME INSTRUMENTS FROM SCHOOL AND BRING THEM WITH THEM TO THE GAME

Early Release  Friday, October 5th!

@Indian Springs (wind ensemble /percussion class / and a few others are participating)

8-1pm

(if your child need to audition at a specific time – please contact me as soon as possible)

November 1st…..All City band Rehearsal and Concert

(for the students who try-out and make the band)

Fossil Ridge HS

8am-3pm rehearsal

6:30pm performance

 

November 3rd…..All Region Band Try-outs

December 8^th………….All Region Band Rehearsal and Concert

DONATIONS ARE NEEDED

12 pack soft drinks and bottled water will be passed out at the football game.

If you are able to donate a beverage, please send them to the front office before school or send them with your child to band.

We have 187 students participating in the event on THURSDAY, October 4^th…..

So we would love to have your support!!!!

“JUST PASSING NOTES”

 

 Practice charts are 25% of your child’s grade! 

• Each week is a different practice chart and on the back is a written assignment
• (don’t forget to sign them)

 

• The band hall is open at 8am for practice each morning.

Monday – Friday

 

• Don’t forget to attend sectionals! 

Please try not to schedule Dr. appointments during sectional time if at all possible.  Please put sectional rehearsals on your family calendar.

 

All band forms were due last week – several students have not turned in their forms – please check with your child and see if they have turned them in!

 

 

• All Region / All District fee should be turned in by Friday J $12.00

(for those students participating – wind ensemble and percussion class must participate – Honor Band and Symphonic Band are optional)

• All other fee’s should be turned in by October 1^st

Instrument maintenance fee -  100.00 (school owned instruments)

Percussion fee 25.00 - IF YOUR CHILD PLAYS PERCUSSION

We will begin playing out of those books on Friday for a grade

the week of the game for all parents.

Students will be finished and will be ready for parent pickup during the THIRD QUARTER.

(You may have already ordered this book, but if not, we will be able to sell this book later this week)

If your child would like to audition for All District and All Region – they must attend Honor and Wind Ensemble sectionals so that they can learn both sets of music.  (this is not required)
