WINTER CONCERT

December 17^th

For all Band Students

At FRHS

7:00pm

 

Symphonic Band arrives at 6:30pm

Honor Band arrives at 6:35pm

Wind Ensemble arrives at 6:45pm

 

Students will wear all black dress shirts / black socks/ black shoes / black pants

ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATE for a TEST GRADE

 

WINTER TOUR for Wind Ensemble

For elementary / intermediate school

December 14, and 18

(please avoid Dr. appointments on these days)

 

If you can volunteer to help with our winter tour, I will need 3 parents for each day.

 

Schedule for Winter Tour

Please take your children to CTIS on December 14^th at 8:00am

December 14^th CTIS Concert  8:30 am – 5^th grade

December 14^th CTIS Concert 9:30am – 6^th grade

 

Please take your children to Heritage on December 18^th at 8:00am

December 18^th Heritage Elementary School 8:30am – for entire school

December 18^th Parkview Elementary 10:00 – for entire school

December 18^th North Riverside Elementary School 12:30pm – for entire school

 

Students will be brought back by KISD school buses

Students will need to bring money for lunch on December 18^th – we will eat at

Pizza Inn at Alliance Town Square

 

Winter Tour details

 

Students will wear all black dress shirts / black socks / black pants/ black shoes

Students must pass all of their classes on their report card that comes out Friday in order to participate in the winter tour!

 

All Region Clinic and Concert information

WHEN:  December 8^th

Students who made all region should have received a letter and a music folder with more details in regards to this event.

FHMS Symphonic Band News -- 11/7/2012

·          There is a new sectional schedule starting next week that will allow us to combine a few instrument groups so that we will be more success on our full band music.

Ø No SECTIONALS AFTER SCHOOL

Ø Students will be pulled out of class for tutoring by Mrs. Janeski and Mr. Mullins.

 

·         Congratulations to all of our students that made ALL REGION BAND this weekend.  We came out 2^nd place in the entire region with almost 30 schools auditioning.  SUPER PROUD OF THE FHMS BAND!!!!!!!!!!  28 students from FHMS made the REGION BAND!!!!!!!! 

·         Practice Charts are due each week.

·         Don’t forget to send in your donations for the “GOODIE BAGS”

·         THANKS to all of you that have purchased items for our goodie bags!!!!!!!!!!  The kids LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

·         SPECIAL THANKS to all of the volunteers that have helped this past week with office work and with the region band!  We appreciate YOU!!!!!!!!!!

·         Jazz Band auditions are November 15^th.  (after school) See attachment for more information in regards to Jazz Band.  Results will be posted outside of the BAND HALL on Friday the 16^th. The first rehearsal will be November 30^th from 3:45-5pm.

·         We still have the following items for sale:  water bottles $5.00, lanyards $3.00, and Cinch sacks $8.00

·         I am here every morning to hear MAKE UP TESTS.  7:45 – 8:25am

·          Percussion full band rehearsals will be on the following dates:

FHMS Honors Band News - 11/7/2012

 

·          There is a new sectional schedule starting next week that will allow us to combine a few instrument groups as we prepare full band music for UIL contest next semester. Some sectionals will not change day/time.

 

·         Trumpet – Monday: 3:45 – 4:30

·         Flute/Oboe – Tuesday: 3:45 – 4:30

·         Horn – Tuesday: 4:30 – 5:15

·         Clarinet/Saxophone: Wednesday 3:45 – 4:30

·         Trombone/Baritone/Bassoon/Tuba: Thursday: 3:45 – 4:30

 

·         This week, our theory worksheet deals with families of instruments. Check to make sure your student has this complete by next Monday along with their signed practice record. Practice Charts are due Monday each week.

·         Don’t forget to send in your donations for the “GOODIE BAGS”

·         Round 2 of HB students will be playing in the FHMS pep-rally this Thursday, Nov. 8 during 8^th period. If your student played in round 1, they will attend the pep-rally with their class. If they are in Round 2, they will come to the Band Hall at 2:30 and join the Wind Ensemble.

·         Private lessons are still available for every instrument and highly encouraged! Please call or write if you have any questions about this exciting opportunity!
